Effects of Deforestation on Animals

Hello and welcome back to my another new blog. Here I'm with a another topic to discuss which is most important to discuss now a days.

As we all know we are suffering from global pandemic i.e., Corona Virus (Covid-19). We need to be very aware and careful as well . Owing of which Our Nation is suffering from shortage of oxygen and Because to fulfill our daily needs we are continuously cutting trees for wood and harming animals too for destroying there houses as well. So, today I came with this new and Important issue to discuss. Let's start-

Effect of Deforestation to animals  :-

So firstly what is Deforestation-
Deforestation is the permanent removal of trees to make room for something besides forest. This can include clearing the land for agriculture or grazing, or using the timber for fuel, construction or manufacturing. Forests cover more than 30% of the Earth's land surface, according to the World Wildlife Fund.

These forested areas can provide food, medicine and fuel for more than a billion people. Worldwide, forests provide 13.4 million people with jobs in the forest sector, and another 41 million people have jobs related to forests.

Forests are a resource, but they are also large, undeveloped swaths of land that can be converted for purposes such as agriculture and grazing. In North America, about half the forests in the eastern part of the continent were cut down for timber and farming between the 1600s and late 1800s.Today, most deforestation is happening in the tropics. Areas that were inaccessible in the past are now within reach as new roads are constructed through the dense forests. A 2017  report by scientists at the University of Maryland showed that the tropics lost about 61,000 square miles (158,000 square kilometers) of forest in 2017 — an area the size of Bangladesh.

Deforestation is the major cause of climate change, habitat loss for many threatened and endangered species. Eighty percent of Earth's land animals and plants live in forests, and deforestation threatens species including the Orangutan, Sumatran Tiger, White-Bellied Spider Monkey, Peruvian Woolly Monkey, Common spider monkey, Golden lion tamarin, The Uakari Monkey, The South American Tapir, Jaguar, Giant Brazilian Otter, Lazy Bear, Pink Amazon dolphin, Rhino, Elephant, Golden Toad, Frogs and other amphibian species that are threatened with extinction. Toucan, Hyacinth Macaw, and many other species of birds. The removal of trees and other types of vegetation reduces available food, shelter, and breeding habitat.

“137 species of animals are becoming extinct each day, which adds up to 50,000 species disappearing every year, because of deforestation.”

Deforestation is the clearing, destroying, or otherwise removal of trees through deliberate, natural, or accidental means. It can occur in any area densely populated by trees and other plant life, but the majority of it is currently happening in the Amazon Rainforest.

The loss of trees and other vegetation can cause climate change, desertification, soil erosion, fewer crops, flooding, increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, and a host of problems for indigenous people.

Deforestation occurs for a number of reasons, including farming, with 80% of deforestation resulting from extensive cattle ragging and logging for materials and development. It has been happening for thousands of years, arguably since man began converting from hunter/gatherer to agricultural based societies, and required larger, unobstructed tracks of land to accommodate cattle, crops, and housing. It was only after the onset of the modern Era that it became an epidemic.

Environmental Effects of Deforestation From Above

Loss of Habitat

One of the most dangerous and unsettling effects of deforestation is the loss of animal and plant species due to their loss of habitat.  live in forests. Not only does deforestation threaten species known to us, but also those unknown.

The trees of the rainforest that provide shelter for some species also provide the canopy that regulates the temperature. Deforestation results in a more drastic temperature variation from day to night, much like a desert, which could prove fatal for many inhabitants.

Increased Greenhouse Gases

In addition to the loss of habitat, the lack of trees also allows a greater amount of greenhouse gases to be released into the atmosphere. Healthy forests  from the atmosphere, acting as valuable carbon sinks. Deforested areas lose that ability and release more carbon.

Water in the Atmosphere

The trees also help control the level of water in the atmosphere by helping to  In deforested areas, there is less water in the air to be returned to the soil. This then causes dryer soil and the inability to grow crops.

Therefore , kindly save trees 🌳 , save life 🙏.

Thank you
